Lovely piece, sounds like an equally lovely family you have.

[this is good] If this is not the Christmas spirit, I don't know what is.You are an awesome family, and your grandmother knows it.

[this is good] It' so often that love and labor work together to preserve dignity.
This is such a lovely, lovely portrait - worthy of the season, worthy of your grandmother. I love the gentleness and affection thatyou've portrayed.

karen

thank you, i couldn't agree more.

karen

funny, i think of this as christmas spirit too, but not everyone agrees with me. people seem to want christmas to be happy happy happy. but for me christmas always has a sweet, sad undertone to it, especially now that i'm grown up.

EF Laurel: thank you.

karen

i agree. there is something about working on something with another person to make the job meaningful. and then when you add the fact that the work benefits yet another person, even if only in spirit, well for me that makes it even more worthwhile.

Deborah

I'm late to this, but really, this is beautiful. You know how much I miss my grandma, and reading about your visit gave me a big smile. So much of life is appreciating what you have while you have it.

[this is good] As polished a portrait, sentiment, and moment as there ever will be. Thanks for sharing.
