That is remarkable, given that we are still clawing our way out of the country's worst recession since the Depression, largely precipitated by the mortgage business. More housing, seriously??

karen

You said it. More housing, with the same lack of water and the samedesperate need for morewetlands. It's appalling.

[this is good] Good for you for joining the resistance on this issue! Our country is despoiled by greed and its handmaidens of propaganda, ignorance, and indifference.

In my mind, it is important to remember that the financiers have no country, no patriotism. One nation for making a buck is just as good as another.

We the people have to live in a "place." They, the giant corporations and the excessively wealthy, don't.

Fight on!

Yes, it's all about the dollar. In these bad times, people will build/work for less, interest rates are so far down that you can build a whole development, fund it now and take ten years to see it through at the low-low rates. Meanwhile, years pass, the rates will go up, people will spend again and by the time this project comes about, they will make more than their share of money doing it. Down markets are always the best time to invest. It's all about money...

karen

I couldn't agree more, this new city they want to build would be all of three miles down the road so I would be living with it every day. The whole thing has made me much more aware of what is happening in what is essentially my backyard, and I'm now a huge fan of Save the Bay.

karen

It is all about the money, but money won't buy fresh water, it won't buy wildlife and it won't buy flood protection if this project goes in. Some (bad) decisions are irreversable.

Well dear, In my mind, it is important to remember that the financiers have no
country, no patriotism. One nation for making a buck is just as good as
another.
