We did not pick these, but we often do pick morels in the spring. In fact hunting for mushrooms is one of my favorite family activities.
While morels do come in different colors and varieties their flavor stays pretty consistent. That night we prepared them by putting them in water, even though they were fresh they were a little dehydrated, then we cooked them in low heat in butter for about 20 minutes. After that we added unsweeted whipping cream and cooked them for another 20 minutes or so, stirring often so that the cream wouldn't get crusty.
We served them over a delicious American Kobe beef steak and it was very very delicious!
I don't want to smell it-- I want to steal bites when you aren't looking.

[this is good] Morels are the best mushroom in the whole world. That looks like about $30 worth.
